22 year old Universal deisel. Seems to run well other than this. After running for a while and then turn the engine off, if I restart the engine it will run fine for a few minutes and then slowly loose power and stall. It restarts right away and will run forever after starting again. Any Idea about what is happening here? Bob

Only things diesels need, once they're
running, are air and fuel. If your air filter is clean, then you need to check your fuel system.

Air filter has been replaced at purchase. Fuel tank was drained and fuel replaced. One person suggested a plugged tank vent, another a hose leak on the suction side of the pump. I can smell no fuel odor at all in engine area. How can you check for suction side hose leaks? Thanks Bob
