Universal M35A - Can I mount a Balmar 48-USP-M-B pulley kit?

Various places I've read about issues with the belt rubbing the water pump on a Westerbeke Universal M35A since the pump is mounted on the starboard side of the engine and not in the center like an M35B. The kit description implies it fits both the A & B versions. Has anyone with a M35A successfully mounted the Balmar kit so there are no issues?

Has anyone seen or used the similar kit from Marine Smart Energy? They have a kit labeled specifically for the M35A, but I don't know how it avoids the problem unless their pulley diameters are smaller. If that is the case, would that not require the tach to be recalibrated?

Not familiar with the configuration and space specs of your A model vs the B model.

The question above is "HIGHLY LIKELY" if you want an accurate tach.

When I installed my Balmer 614, I had to calibrate my tach. It's not too complicated, but it doesn't perform perfectly. I am thinking about installing a magnetic pickup so that I can get a consistent, accurate reading.
