Can anyone provide a source for a reasonably priced heat exchanger for my Universal M18? I would like to move up to a 3" model as inexpensively as possible but would consider simply adding a 2nd 2" I would especally favor used. Any leads to a truely affordable solution will not only be appreciated but if your local I'll buy you a beer!

Heat Exchanger replacement/upgrade

Since no one responded I will assume there are no affordable alternatives to the costly units available.

Bob, the only people who make them are Universal

because it's the "marination" part of converting a tractor engine into a boat engine. Since that's the key component, there just are no alternate sources.

Heat exchanger replacement

I have a 1984 c-30 with the universal diesel 25. I replaced my heat exchanger in 2005. My boat had the original 2 inch model and always ran hot under load. I upgraded to the 3 inch model and it runs great! I bought the unit from Lenco replacement coolers. They are located at 690 Albany Ave. North Amityville, NY 11701. 631/842-4049 Web site: lencocoolers.com They are a pleasure to deal with. Just tell them your engine and they will advise you with unit would be best for you. They manufacture them on-site and have most in stock. Their prices are more than reasonable too. Good luck..........Frank (First Luff)
