Universal Engine Paint & alternator

Hello Members,
(1) I'm changing to the new style alternator bracket on our 1984 Universal diesel M 25. Painting the engine is part of the plan. Is the gold color paint available? I tried Torresen Marine & found only Westerbeke blue.

(2) If you have made the alternator bracket change..... Are there any specific problems involved in the alternator bracket change? (3) I'm not at the boat now... Are the studs for mounting the new bracket already part of the exhaust manifold attachment?

Regarding the engine paint- I would try a local auto body paint supplier. The ones in my area carry engine paint as well as body paint and can mix up the color that you need.

Years ago I told my local shop I wanted a pint of Volvo green. They looked it up and mixed a pint for $15. The match was perfect.

Regarding the alternator bracket- sorry can't help at all.

Take any part that has color on it and a good paint shop can match it with the quality paint that you need.

I've found that some engines need to replace the studs. I didn't have to.
