My surveyor and I could not find the engine model number on my 1990 Catalina 30. I have taken numbers of the engine to local engine mechanics and they have failed to get my a number from Universal. Please help
Call catalina with your sail number and they can pull the file on your boat and tell you exactly the engine that went into that very boat........good luck Gary
Chris, I too have a 90 cat 30.(#5900) The engine in mine is a Universal M3-20. I also have the ownes manual which is generic for a whole series of 13 different models and has pictures left and right of each model. It should be simple to decide which model you have from the pictures. If you like I would be happy to copy the pictures to help you decide. Can also copy the owners manual for you if you like.
