I have a 1980 O'Day with 16hp universal diesel model 20 (5416) Is it normal not to have strainer on raw water inlet hose prior to pump? Where is zinc anode in heat exchanger? Is there an air filter? My owners manual is inadequate-where canI get info or agood manual?

Larry,Torresen Marine has a complete parts list manual on their web site and you can see exploded views of the assemblies and pick out the parts you need. I have a Universal 25M and I don't have a raw water strainer either except for the coarse strainer on the thru hull. I am also considering adding one.On my engine the zinc is a pencil zinc that screws in with a pipe thread into the bottom of the heat exchanger.
