My recently purchased Oday has a universal 5416 engine. I went to change the oil and the oil pump I used to use on my other boat to pump out the oil through the dipstick will not fit down the dipstick and I cannot find another that has a small enough diameter tube that will work. The oil drain plug is near impossible to get to with a wrench with room to turn it. I went to the Westerbeke website but there is limited information on universal engines. The features sheet for the 5416 states the engine has a hand sump pump, is this for pumping out oil? If I have to remove the drain plug as difficult as it will be I will install a quick oil change pump kit but I really don't want to it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
