Hello I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I am reading conflicting information on the forum so I'm hoping for some clarification. My universal 5411 engine has a Sherwood pump with 2 bolt holes on the attachment flange( photo attached), it is unclear to me which oberdorfer to replace this with. Will the N202M - 15 be able to bolt-up to the 2 bolt configuration without modification? Or should I go with the N202M - 7 or something different? Thank you very much for the input!

Stu seems to be the expert on all things Universal - I'm guessing he will chime in. My engine is an M25 but I think the same pump set up. Looks the same in the photo. Remove the pump AND the adapter plate. You'll find a N202M-15 will mate directly to the cover without the adapter. There are 4 studs under the adapter and the -15 uses all 4. As I recall, the studs holding the adapter plate were too short for the pump but they are 6mm studs and a longer version is readily available at hardware stores or home centers. Mine were easy to remove by just locking 2 nuts against each other and backing it out. This makes for a much cleaner install and better pump. I did have to file a tiny bit off the pump base to allow it to fit around the round peg (not sure what it is) that shows in the upper left corner of your photo. I bought the pump from Depco - they were very helpful and easy to work with.

Last spring I followed Stu’s suggestion and called DEPCO for an Oberdofer pump to replace the Sherwood pump on my M25XP.
They helped identify the pump I needed and it was an easy swap.
Very happy with their service.
