I have recently aquired a 1983 Catalina 30 with a Universal diesel engine with a co-owner. There were no operating manuals and the control panel in the cockpit is pretty worn in terms of the labeling.
The boat sat for an undetermined period of time, and apparently had some water inside the engine compartment at some point, as the engine has some rust on it, and the transmission has a good bit of rust.
We are not sure on the control panel which knob is the choke, and what the two pull out knobs are in general. Obviously one is choke, which we suspect is the one beside the key.
Also, we checked oil, needs to be replaced, but for kicks, tried to crank the engine. It does turn, but does not start. Thus need to know which is choke knob, and which is the "glow plug' which I believe must be pushed in and held.
Any and all susggestions welcomed!
