Universal alternator bracket

Does the alternator mounting issue only apply to the M18 and M25? The alternator mount on the 5444 (and M50) appears to be an ear on the timing case cover as well, is this a potential problem?

Attached is a photo of the situation in question. I can't find any information on line as to whether this is a problem with this engine or if the brackets just look similar. Would also welcome suggestions as to the best way to clean a horribly filthy engine while on the hard during the cold winter months

If they don’t sell a retrofit kit for your motor it probably hasn’t been a problem. Check TOAD and see if there is a kit in the exploded diagrams.
