I have a water leak after the impeller and it is where the 2 bolts hold the pump into the engine. Cost of a whole new pump assembly is very expensive. Has anyone had the problem and how did you solve it?

The pump may just be leaking from the paper gasket between where the outer water pump cover mounts to the pump face. If you remove the pump for rebuilding, remember that there is a two piece shaft on the water pump on the 5411 engine, because there is an extension piece on the shaft to make it fit the 5411 engine. The two pieces of the pump shaft must align properly, and the inner shaft can slip out when the main shaft is removed. If both pieces of the shaft are not aligned & seated correctly the punp will not work & will overheat the engine, which is always more of an immediate concern then long term corrosion from a weep leak. I also rebuilt my Oberdofer water pump. Remember to also order the lubrication cup that mounts to the side of the pump, if yours is an early one & comes with this cup. Unfortunately the lil oil cup is made from steel, not copper or bronze & can & will rust away, & is also a source of leaks on the pump (this is where mine leaked from).
