Our Supercold Machine started up fine for the first time this season. After a period of time (1hr or so) I noticed that it had shut down. Checked the thermostats and restarted the system. The unit wanted to start, the lights dim and it shuts down after 1 second. Any ideas. Let it sit overnight and tried it again with the same result. Thanks Russell

Sounds like Compressor problem

Get a rubber mallet or a block of wood, and try starting the compressor. When you put power to it, give the compressor a couple of good whacks. If it does not start, you need to get an ohmmeter and read the resistance between the 3-terminals on the compressor. They should be about the same resistance. If they are not, you need to replace the compressor. If they are the same you probably have a problem in the controls. If it is a Danfos module, you will probably need to replace it. If it is not, it is probably the start and or run capacitor.

Mixing elbow

Mixing elbow could have coked up at season's end, only to cake over while sitting idly all winter. Chokes off water supply and kills the engine pronto.

voltage drop

Russell, check for voltage drop at the condensing assembly. With a digital volt meter, watch the voltage when the compressor attempts to start (fan will slow down). There should be minimal drop. If you see a 1/2 volt or more, go through the wiring and clean and tighten all connections. If there is little or no drop, remove the control module and send it to us for testing.
