Making your H-27 a trailerable boat.
D.J, I saw your post and thought I would try to help out, since I just went through the same thing only 3 months ago. I have an '82 H-27 and wanted to bring her home in order to do some work in her. A steel cradle came with my boat and all it is, is a 5' by 6' rectangle with a post in each corner and carpet covered boards for supports. I can give you dimensions if you desire. I acquired a 10K pound capacity 16' equipment trailer for $1500 and set the cradle & boat on it and tied it all down with straps. I pulled it with a 3/4 ton pickup. The whole job went amazingly smooth. We towed it 125 miles without any problems. I was concerned with tipping and swaying but that was a non-issue. I don't know that I would take it all over the state, but from the lake and back is not a problem. Be aware that it is 1 foot over width and requires a permit for most roads, $15 for the interstate highway in michigan.Let me know if you want more information or dimensions, but a fancy form fitting trailer probably may not be required.Good luck, it is alot easier to get things done on it when it is nearby instead of miles away.
