Understanding H30 Furling Setup

Thought I would jump right in with the newbie questions... How do I lower my furled sail/furler if there is no Jib Halyard? I'm trying to remove the sail for the winter for service.

There are many brands of furlers which are set up differently. Find out the brand and google for instructions.

Please post a picture or two. Can not think of a set-up without a halyard.

Could be a CDI, which uses an internal halyard.

If it is, there is a very thin line that runs from the top the sail, OVER the top of the foil, and back down the foil to the tack of the sail where it is tied off on the drum just opposide the tack. you need to untie that, tie a length of messenger line to it, and pull down the sail by hand.

Your Furler looks like a CDI. It is similar to mine on my 37c. Go to to website and look at the instruction for installation and operation for help.

What did you replace it with?

Schaefer 2100. Raised the drum a bit to be able to have better access to anchor rollers. Very smooth.
