underpowered hunter 30

I feel my inboard 12 yarmar is not enough power,I like to put a 20 outboard on any suggestions?

What do you mean?

Hey, Jon...how fast do you think your H-30 will go with a larger engine? The Yanmar should easily drive it to hull speed unless there's something wrong with the engine or drive. I hear the MacGregors' will do over 25 knots, but isn't there a trade off there?Jim Maroldos/v: Lil' Wass Ett

Try a tune up and a new prop

Early Hunters were notoriously underpowered. My 1980, Hunter 30 has the 15 HP, 2QM15 "upgrade". I had the engine valves adjusted and also changed to a three blade prop with just a litlle less pitch. I helped a lot in the speed and power department.
