Contest 30 Mark 2 ?
Thanks Steve, I've just returned from a visit to the boat. I was very impressed by the boat's construction. Yes it has the fibreglass combings and the modern cabintop with two windows(ports) in the main cabin and two smaller ones forward. What I found curious was the size of the Starboard settee/berth. Is that what's called a coffin berth....small. This boat has a stainless steel tiller and an old Danish gas engine.... Does that correspond to yours? I've been looking for specific information on this model and have come up dry. (Googling Contest Sailboat gives you thousands of returns, but little on this boat. I was speculating on the possibility that the boat was improperly registered and is actually a Contest 29 but I have been unable to get a image of the rudder of said boat. Honestly, I'm somewhat perplexed by this rudder as most vintage Contests I've seen have a full skeg. Then again... who knows. I am pleased that you have the same boat. Presently I sail an Albin Vega, another sturdy, sweet european classic. I would be very interested to hear you comments/review of this boat as I have heard only good things about vintage Contests. BTW I usually singlehand the Vega and look forward to doing the same with the Contest.Best RegardsAntonio
