I'm about to order a new main through CatalinaDirect who sells Ullman sails. I have seen higher and lower prices from other companies and would like any feedback on Ullman/Catalina Direct. Thanks

bought one of those also

i purchased one from c/d also. I believe, tho, you can order direct from ullman. I have a 74 c22. I thought the order was rather quick and it looks great on the boat. haven't had a chance to use it yet. They do put ur numbers on along with the catalina logo at the top. i believe i paid just under 5 for it. next time tho, i'd like to see if i could order one directly from ullman without having to go thru catalina direct.

Thanks Tom, The main for my boat from Catalinadirect/Ullman is $1650. If I recall Ullman advertises in the Catalina Mainsail magazine. However, if Ullman were cheaper than buying from Catalina Direct they would lose out in the end. Are you saying you had other trouble with catalina direct?

www.Natiional Sail supply

I bought a150% headsail for my C30TR last year It cost less then other sails but not as much as others. They did nice work my sail was a delux I will order a new main sail for this spring I will need some coustom work so the sail clears my 6' 3" bimine I was thinking I wood get there full batten main with extra reef point But the guys tell me that most C 30 owners get the two top full batten and leave the rest half .My main is still ok but it needs some work and it has some small holes in the top4' ofsail and its frayed a little bit on my duchmen sail system. I think Im in for 400 or 500 bucks from (sail care)with shiping. plus new sails make a boat move so much better. JohnOlson

Looking at Main Sail too

I am looking at the sails on Catlina Direct too. I have a catalin 30. The questions I have are about the loose footed, as well as the way the slides are in. If anyone has info on that as far as ease of use, I would love to hear as well.

Catalina direct

Last year I purchased a Main and a 150 RF jib for my 28tr. The main is full batten, loose footed (which is great)with 2 reef points. The second reef point looks too high (an option)and I had to file some of the metal slides to get them to fit in the mast, other than that the sail is very nice, very high quailty, well worth the cost. The roped slides on the mast are nice for reefing. The 150 is also very nice, nice shape, excellent quailty. I looked around alot and I think these sails are the highest quailty for the price. The best deal I got last year was on a 135 from Catalina when they had their 50% off sale on slighty discolored sails. I think I paid about $450 for basicly a new, perfect sail. Rick
