I'm in the process of buying a 89 37 legend. Most of the woodwork still looks really good but there are a few places where I would like to replace the wood. I'm Fairly sure the floors are teak, but what of the bulkheads and cabinetry, I want whatever I replace to match what is there. Is it all teak, mahogany, okume, fir, seems that those are the main types available. Also is the wood typically clear coated or have a particular stain.

Thanks in advance
Lynn

If I remember correctly, all the wood in there is plywood (no voids, good stuff) with a teak veneer glued on .. Handrails/grabs and fiddles are solid, but I think bulkheads and floors and furniture is veneered ply.

I wish I could post pictures. Unfortunately my phone with the photos crashed and I haven't been able to retrieve them yet and the boat is currently 5 hours away. Im waiting on the survey report to complete the purchase.
I was thinking a lot of it was veneer and probably teak. and was probably very standard.
Kloudie1 do you know if the color is a clear coat or stained.

If you need to touch up anything try
Zars wood stain natural teak #120 it's vertral an exact match
I have used it on a door panel made of oak and stained it, can't till the diferance.
Look at my pics on my thread. Hunter 34 stain for early models 1983 - 1987 vintage models.
Pics of old and new stained wood.
Legend had floors that are teak and holly veneer bulkheads were teak veneer and trim was solid teak. They used birch wood tape that was self stic and glued on to cabinet edges then stained.
Hope this helps.
