Seasons Greetings to All:
I have two speciific questions regarding our W-C Imperial that I'm hoping someone out there can help with. As background, we have two of these that came as original equipment on our 45' Explorer. I have disassembled one, and have rebuild kits for two. We have contacted Thetford with these questions, but did not receive an answer other than "here's a parts list"...
1. When we rebuild the toilet, which pieces need to be greased? The only grease on the one I have disassembled was on the springs-- is that correct?
2. The base and the pumps are made of bronze. The prior owner had tried to paint these, but the paint was not sticking and looked terrible. We've removed the paint, but we've found no way to keep the bronze from tarnishing. Is there a solution to this? If not, is there a recommended way to prep the bronze for painting?
Thanks
