I have an Oday23 and I need some help with the following:
#1-- The come along pulled out from its point of attachment under the boom. Any suggestions on the best way to reattach it?

#2-- I sail mostly on my own. I would like to get a roller furling for the jib installed.Any suggestions as to specific furling that is needed, cost, or where I might purchase same?? I live in Mattituck, NY, which is on the East end of Long Island.

It depends on what you mean by "pulled off the boom" is the loop still attached to the boom or did the vang pulley attachment break?

If the metal loop pulled off the boom, it is rivited on, so you may need to either re-rivit it or use a short SS screw of larger diameter and use lock tite on the threads.....If it's the other, you might have to replace the block or "pulleys".

As for roller furling, I'm a year off of going that route with my 23 cause the college tuitions went up for my kids going to college.....

Are you referring to the bail under your boom that your mainsheet is attached to? You may be able to just rivet it back on again.

As for the roller furler; I have a CDI Roller Reefing Furler on my boat and I love it. The whole thing including the sail refit can cost about $8 or $900. It really depends on whether you want to have your sail converted or buy a furler and have them make the sail for it. Make sure you have a UV shield sewn to it. Without the shield, the sail will only last about three seasons. Check out Sail-Rite for info and pricing. I bought a CDI FF-2 without the ball bearings. The drum on mine spins on a large washer and that's all that is needed on a boat the size of mine according to Rudy at D & R Marine where I bought it. I think that I paid about $390.00 for my furler when I bought it a few years ago. I had my Gennie converted to fit it by a sail maker in Bristol RI. I love my furler. You can't beat them. I installed it myself with the help of a friend and I have the drum mounted about 5" higher so that it doesn't interfere with my bow anchor roller.

Thanks for the info. I plan to use my 150 jib for the furler. I'm going to talk to D&R marine to see what they think.
Thanks again,
riz

Your suggestion of using a SS screw of larger diameter seems a good way to go.
Thanks,
