Just purchased a B40 and need some recommendations as to the size and mounting of a flat screen TV.

Also, does a pure sine or modified sine inverter have any effect on picture quality?

I have a B43 and mounted a 32" flat screen on the bulkhead on the STBD side of the salon. Only use it while hooked to shore power so can't comment on inverter, sine wave, etc. As for installing it I used a mount that I could lock into place to prevent it from coming off the bulkhead. To keep it from rattling around I cut and stuffed cheap sponges behind the TV. For the power cord and cable wires I drilled a hole in the bulkhead behind the TV and another directly below it down below the settee. I then fished the wire between the bulkhead and shower wall. On your 40 you don't have a forward head but instead I believe a cabinet which should make it easier to run the wires out of sight from the salon. For AC power I installed a GFI outlet next to the AirCond unit under the settee. I then ran the 110VAC wiring from the nav table area along the hull behind the settees then down through the bilge parrallel to another wire run. I tied it into the breaker panel for the Air Conditoning.

The current generation LCD panels are very low power, I think my Vizio 22" uses about 65 watts so you don't need much of an inverter to run it.

I have a 22 inch plenty big mounted to the starboard shroud with two plastic life line clamps and the multi position tv mount from Walmart. Works great didn't have drill holes anywhere!
