Ref: Beneteau 393: What specific Lewmar block is recommended for the turning blocks at the base of the mast? The original equipment blocks are not very good; they easily freeze up. There are seven blocks on my boat. All are the same size. Manufacturer unknown.

Turning blocks

I'm no expert on this matter, but I have added mast base turning blocks to my Beneteau 361, and can tell you what works there. If you have those studs that are bolted through the mast base to which the block is attached, then you'll need blocks with a "toggle head" attachment point. Lewmar makes several blocks that work - the "Ocean" and "Syncro" are ones I've used. The clevis pin that holds the block to the stud needs to fit correctly. On my boat the 60mm blocks fit. Go to Lewmar's web site to get the part numbers.
