trying to remove stuffing box from first42

New to us boat = new to us problems. We want to change the stuffing box on our 1984 Beneteau First 42 with a PSS dripless shaft seal. What a bear this is turning out to be. Anyone have any tips on getting the old stuffing box out? http://forums.beneteau.sailboatowners.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

Hi CrazyLegs,
We put a dripless in our 2000 Beneteau about 5 years ago. Could not get the shaft to release. Had to ask the yard to remove the propshaft. It is a press fit connection and we didn't have the right tools.
