Buying any old veneer wasn't the question. I bought two different veneers my woodworking buddy says that the veneer hunter used is 1/4 cut veneer. I want to find out if I can get that. Any idea what company hunter Marlow used to procure their materials when building these boats? So I can ask the plywood manufacturer what species of mahogany I need to find in order to color-match the stain. Or do they still produce the same marine plywood used then?
I sanded a portion of the original wood and have color-matched it but the veneers turn too dark hense I need the proper vaneer for a good match.

Trying to find matching Mahogany plywood

Are you sure the walls are mahogany ? In 1999, the walls were teak. However, Hunter may may have changed to mahogany by 2006 ?

She's as cute as can be ! No question there.

However, would need a close up within a few inches of the panel to get a better idea of what it is. Pretty sure the solid wood around the sink is teak so the plot thickens.

It looks like you are in Ontario, have you called Noah's Marine? They don't list mahogany but they may know how to match your panel.

I brought the panel and my made one there they ordered and sent me Mustard stain from Mohawk
the color matches the original when we sanded that piece and applied its a match but I cant get the new piece to match friend is saying the wood must be a different variety

If the grain doesn't match then it could be a species difference, or just the way it was cut. The folks at Noah's would know better than I.

According to the owners manual for the 2005 H-36 (page 30) it should be teak. They actually give a good description of how to repair/refinish:

Sailboats under Marlow Hunter started manufacturing in 2012. The year Hunter Marine LLC underwent Chapter 11.

Marlow Hunter 33 wall panels are finished using Mohawk Cherry Wood stain. The Amber Cherry plywood came from Vendor MIN234. I do not have a cross reference to the actual outlet. The nice folks in the Sail Boat Owners store maybe able to help. I have an Cherry Wood refinishing document that gives part numbers that I will send if you wish to PM me.

NOTE: If the the boat is a 2006 Hunter 33 then disregard this post.

Thanks, DArcy. Sounds like the OP is looking for the original material spec. I know of sources for marine plywood like mahogany, teak, but I don't think that's what he's looking for.
