In response to the urban myth about motorboating with a trailer (Why I am a sailor, not a motorboater), I was reminded of the avid bassfisherman. After a busy day of putting his boat on and off the trailer numerous times while "tinkering" to make it run that 1/2 mph faster, he finally felt like he had it JUST Right!. He was also quite tired of running up and down the hill from the launch ramp after parking his truck. What the heck, very slow day at the ramp so he left the relatively new Ford pickup with trailer on the ramp and ran back & forth across he lake in glee.He return to no trailer, no truck in sight! Was it towed? stolen? So he tied up his now perfectly performing bass boat nearby and waded up to a lone fisherman on the shore. "'excuse me sir, but have ya seen a blue Ford pickup...ya ya ya? he asked. The old man just pointed just off the ramp of the murkey water at a shiny metal shaft sticking out of the water and said "is that thar the antenna like was on yor truck?".So now the boat was fine but the truck was sunk!
