Trip to the San Juans

I have a 1979 venture 25 with a swing keel and a displacement of 2100 lbs.
I have a cruise planned August 4 through the 11th (we have been out for 3 days before buthtis will be the longest trip so far). I have planned to sail from Roche Harbor to Mackaye Harbor. Any input on this leg of the trip? It is a long leg, but there is no place to overnight on the west coast of San Juan. I appreciate any advise. Has anyone had a similar boat in similar waters?

i'd say in the inside, san juan channel through cattle pass, rather than come out mosqito pass and down west side of San juan island. I got beat up pretty good running up the west side with a big flood ( which I wanted) opposing the wind ( which I didn't want), was heading to Stuart, but ducked into mosquto pass to collect my thoughts and wait for the condiitons to die down.

thanks for the input. I am feeling a bit uncomfortable about the long leg and no where to duck into. I am really hoping to spot some Orcas so tht is why the west coast of san juan is on the list but I may have to hope to be lucjky and find them up by Roche. Carolyn
