My wife and I , left from Ossining,NY on Sunday 6/7/09. It was a beautiful day , not much of a breeze. We started out around 6:30 AM, we motored up the Hudson River. The tide was coming in , we were just ahead of the Floatilla. It took us about eleven hours. Not paying much attention to the depth gage, it was at the Esopus Creek Lighthouse. We were going on the port side of it ,when I felt the drag of the keel .We were lucky that the tide was up. Well we finally made it up the Roundout Creek, were we docked for two days. The first night ,when we got there , we stopped at the bar and met my wife sister & brother in-law.We had a few and we were shot (tired),went back to the boat and went to sleep. The next day ,we had to get gas, went out with my sister in-law did a little bit of sailing. She loved it ,it was a little windy and the water was very choppy. We were out ,about four hours that day .We sat around and swung the bull for awhile, then went to the bar to pay for our docking fee.Ofcourse ,had a few more drinks, still went back to the boat early . Still tired ,I guess it was the sun and the fresh air.I was going to leave in the morning around 6:00AM , but there was thunder storms . It let up about 9:00AM, that's when we left. It was cold and choppy, but couldn't put up the sails. So we motored all the way back, to Ossining. On the way,by Tomkins Cove , I noticed that they knocked down the powerhouse. I was kinda sad to see that ,as I did alot of work there. It took us ten hours to get back and the total of 13 gal. of gas . What a killer LOL
