trickle battery charger

I am contemplating installing a trickle charger to keep my battery topped off. Does anyone have any experience with this?

works great!

Got one in fall of 2001. Kept my batteries charged all winter. Using it again this year.

Using solar panels

Middle of last season I bought 2 of the small flexible solar panels. One for starter battery and the other for the two house batteries. I used them for remainder of season and this is first Winter where I have not removed batteries from boat and kept them in basement. Pilgrim is on the hard, panels topside, facing south and batteries have been fully charged all Winter.
