Does anyone have any pics or a diagram on the triangular set up for a mainsheet on a 1982 Hunter 27'? The boom has 3 pulleys on it.It seems to have baffled more than a few local yards.

Sounds like you need a triple w/becket on trvlr

The traveler should have a triple block with a becket. The sheet is secured to the becket and goes to the first block on the mast, back to the first wheel on the triple, to the 2nd on the mast, 2nd on the travler, 3rd mast third travler to the winch.

Just took mine apart

Just took mine apart to replace one of the sheaves. Mine has the three Merriman single blocks mounted to the boom, a single block with becket on a spring mount on the port side of the top of the cabin, and a double (fiddle) block on the starboard side of the cabin top. The sheet fastens to the becket on the port-side block, runs through the center block on the boom, through the smaller (innermost) block on the starboard side, back through the stern-most block on the boom, through the single block on the port side, through the forward-most block on the boom, and down through the larger (outward-most) block on the starboard side, and back through a locking cleat to the cockpit.
