Does anyone has upgrade the mid boom traveler? I have two options Garhauer and Catalina Direct, I think both are the same price, probably the same equipment. I'm looking for another alternative does any one knows if there is another? If not, how the Catalina Direct or the Garhuer equipment performs? Thanks

Mid Boom Replacement
Carlos I replaced both my traveller hardware and all of the mainsheet blocks a few years ago with Garhauer on our C34. Couldn't be happier, and the price was great. Go anywhere elese and prepare to spend much more $$. Sure, there's Harken, Shaefer, Ronstan, anybody who makes blocks. Just look at a catalog. Then check Bill's prices. The quality of the material is excellent, and the finish is superb. Why go anywhere else? And what does: "probably the same equipment" mean? If you look at the CD website, the picture IS the Garhauer equipment. It is the same. Perhaps you'd get CD to match prices direct from Garhauer, although they appear to now be a dealer for Garhauer, so check both prices. Stu

Carlos, I just ordered the Traveler Upgrade for my mid boom cabin top Cat 27 from CD last week and just can't wait for it to get here. Stu's right..look at anyone else's hardware and you're looking at 3-4 times the $$$. All that's needed is the dimension of the cabintop from edge to edge, and if there are handrails on the cabintop..that dimension as well. They will lead you through it. Leighton

Go with Garhuer
Buy it from Garhuer. It the same system and there the ones that make it. Also they'll answer any questions that you may have. Just don't be in to big of a rush for it to show. I put one on may Catalina 30 last year. I made the lines long enough that I can use it while I'm behind the wheel when I'm sailing alone. It works so well you can run the travler up with one hand, much better then the arched one that came with the boat. lance
