When I purchased my 1978 H33 the main sheet was not connected. I dont think I have all the parts to connect it either. Can someone post a photo of how their boom is connected to the traveler? I have the "banjo block", I think its called, but do not know what is supposed to be attached to the actual traveler.

I may be wrong (I have a 79 h30C) but IIRC the 33 had a set up like #6 at the Ronstan link listed above, if your traveler is on the bridgedeck and not the cabin top.
If I'm correct, it should be an easy fix.

Yes I found the blocks to match the #6 set-up . The block to the boom connection is good but I seem to be missing the connector that hooks the lower block to the traveler

Gray, the pic from Tim is what I thought. If you have the bottom block and the traveler 'car', a simple "U" shackle will work. I actually installed a snap shackle to the bottom of my lower block, which attaches to the 'car' and which can be used to help haul a MOB back aboard by clipping the shackle to the MOB harness D rings.

Excellent, that is what I needed to know. Seemed a bit of a weak point to me but I guess they are stronger then they look. Thanks!

Since I use to single hand a lot, one of the 1st things that I changed on my H-33 was the traveler........ I selected a Schaefer setup with adjustable end controls... put it up on a teak riser so that it slid smoothly and cleared the channel ....drilled horizontal drain holes though the riser and secured it with bolts to the inside of the boat.... and all line are within my reach at the helm..... It has worked well for 30 years. I have attached some pictures …….. hope that this may give you another idea……….. Dick
