Traveler relocation; electrical problem

I want to move the traveler from the cockpit on my Hunter 82 33.5 Cherubini to an arch type over the companion way; this will interfere with a Dodger, any ideas?

Also, fuel, hour meter and Tach gauges not working, electrical problem?

If your three electric gauges all share the same issue I would start with the ground connection. They may well share a common ground.
If you go to the Boat Info section of this site you can see pics of Cherubini 33's with dodgers and traveler relocation to coachroof, though there are many with dodgers and a stock traveler.
