Traveler move I am moving the bridge deck (cockpit) mounted traveler to the coach roof on my O'day 28. I have all of the hardware on order from Garhauer and have spoken with their technical folks regarding such items as stress loads on the coach roof, what mechanical advantage ( 6 to 1) I'll need on the sheet and several other tech. questions they answered for me. For those of you who have done this I would like to know where I place the bails on the boom and how far aft of the mast should I locate the risers and traveler. The system, as I said, is 6:1 on the main sheet so there are three blocks on the traveler and three on the boom; one with a becket. Guido, from Garhauer, assures me that the loads on the deck with a 6:1 system will not stress the boom nor will it damage the coach roof with proper backing plates which they provide. I am making this change so I can sail the boat with the full enclosure buttoned up for a totally closed cockpit area. The bugs (skeeters) and cool rainy days in the Great Lakes make a full enclosure a good thing for a cruising family sail boat.Any info will be helpful. Thanks,Mike
