Never seen instructions on how to do it but it is a fairly simple job. You need a square shank screwdriver to extract the machine screws holding it. They are screwed into an aluminum backplate installed under the fiberglass by Hunter. Depending on how old your boat is, galling may have happened because of corrosion and thus the SS machine screws might be welded to the plate. The square shank will allow you to put a tool to exert strength on it but be advised that because of that galling you might do some damage to the backplate in removing the machine screws.
My own 28.5 was 10 years old when I had to replace the Rutgerson bearings and had been in freshwater so I had no problem. Good luck
