I have to replace a leaking gray Ind. trapazoid shaped deck hatch on my 1983 H-27.Cannot locate original replacement. Would prefer to use better quality hatch to replace it with. Seeking advise from other owners that may have already crossed this bridge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Note) Reply in forum or e-mail me. At) buckysherman@hotmail.com

Trapazoid s out Square is in

What You want is a 22" wide metal frame hatch which will set You back a minimum of $250. "IF THE HARDWARE IS GOOD" repair what You have, I did, and do this repair to both hatches, 2 pieces of 1/2" smoked plexi, acrylic or lexan if you can afford it, set plexi, central on frame, draw the periphery of the frame on the paper that protects the plexi, cut to size, put back on the frame and mark 4 hole locations equally spased "ON THE FRAME" make sure to clear the inside rubber seal, the area between the seal and the downward frame flange is good, mark and drill from the inside outwards, use #10 hardware, when the plexi is secured to the frame with the four bolts, drill four #8 "MINOR DIA" holes on each side of the frame ONLY 1/@" DEEP you don't want to penetrate the plexi, then with 16 #8 sheetmetal screws, these could be on the inner frame area of the rubber seal, install the screws, when completed, remove all hardware, remove the plexi, being trapizoid, it can only go back one way, clean both surfaces, coat hole location with silicon clear, and re install, if you have othe leaks remove the entire frame assy, clean seal with 5200, and reinstall GOOD LUCK
