I was looking at some of the Transpac single hand results, and found some very interesting things. For example, there is a Cal. 20, a Pearson 22, and a Dana 24 in the race. Even more interesting is the distance covered. The most distance covered in a 12 hour period was 100 miles, by a Westsail 32. Thats a surprise, and I would think that was a hell of a 12 hour ride.

everytime I think I'm getting better I hear of such feats. I think they have an extra mast that they stick out of the side once the normal mast is at 90 degrees. What's that commercial, these guys are GOOD.

Pearson 22

My good friend Ruben is sailng the Pearson Electra 22 in the SH Transpac. He lost his mast on Monday in a round up with twin jibs. Didn't break his spirit though! Check him out.
