transom Width

I am ordering new lettering for a new boat name for the Hunter 34 I purchased this spring. I left my notes on the boat last weekend so don't have the width that I wrote down.

Does anyone know the width of the transom where the name will usually go (that 14" space between the top two steps on the swim ladder).

I am hoping to get my lettering ordered in the morning so I can launch next week.

Don't have measurements exactly. I traced the old lettering before removing it and took the tracing to a Fast Signs shop for the new ones. The new lettering's tracing measures just under 40 inches wide using 6 inch high capital letters. My best guess is that you have about a foot of spacing between the ladder hinges and the grab handle step if you use a curved placement as I did.

If it will help, here's a picture to help you estimate the spacing.

On my 1983 H34, the width of the transom at the deck is 95", at the hand hold is 88", at the step hinge is 78". It is 11" from the handhold to the step hinge. The step and hand hold are mounted about 1" off center.
