Transom Trim for post 1987 Catalina 22

Okay:I have looked for pictures of the post 1987 Catalina 22 transom trim piece. If anyone out there has pictures, would please post them so I can see what I might aspire to build. I have a 1990 Catalina 22 with the swing keel. The boat has the larger rub rail and the plastic trim piece from Catalina Direct does not work.

I wonder, do you need to trim it to fit as would you say if you change the rubrail on the old style? With the aluminum end pieces in place on the early boats with the new style rubrail the plastic does have to be trimmed to fit.

After receiving the trim piece, I took it to the boat and tried it on for size. The trim would have to be cut off at the top by two or three inches and then it did not fit. I realized the trim might be for an older boat, with the smaller rub rail. I wrote to Catalina Yachts, but I have not heard back from them.

Give them a call... 818-884-7700 I assume you got it from CD? I'd give them a call to make sure they sent you the right trim? At best just a few years is all that can be expected from this piece. A little UV in the mold would go a long way at making it last a bit longer.

Trim it

I had a 1986 C22 which is the same as the 1987. I bought the CD transom trim and then had to trim it to size. It worked fine.
