Transom Ladder - Oday 19 (not Mariner nor 192)

My third and final (for now) question. I'm considering mounting a folding ladder on the transom of my 1984 O'day 19. It looks as though it would be a bit crowded back there with the outboard mount, rudder, and ladder. As long as the rudder is not deployed at a very sharp angle, it & the ladder would not make contact. I thing that for most practical purposes the rudder & ladder can co-exist. Any comments or helpful mounting hints? I must thank this community for generous sharing of time and knowledge.

Transom Ladder

I have a 1982 O'Day 19. Given the small footprint for a ladder, I'd say you would be hard pressed to mount anything more than a temporary ladder. I looked into this myself and ended up using a temporary fixture. Part of the problem is getting a ladder to extend a usefull distance into the water. Anything less than about two feet is useless. The transom is small, meaning this will extend way up th aft side of the boat, not to mention any brackets of supports required for a platform.
