Our 430 performed quite well offshore from the Chesapeake Bay to Tampa Bay. The 1500 nautical mile trip took 10 days and included a brush with the effects of tropical storm Kyle around Hatteras. Aside from a few hardware issues, the boat held up very well with the exception of a leak originating aft. The water was noted streaming from the vicinity of the exhaust and cableing and traveled to the stbd aft closet and eventually to the bilge. I was not able to see the exact location of the entry. The water was clean and salty with no exhaust odor, taste or color. The leak was especially problematic when the boat was heeled to starboard and ocurred whether sailing or motor-sailing. In the past I have had a Hull/Deck joint leak on the starboard side midships. This was discovered by noting standing water in the area behind the setee where the saloon table is stored. After a section of the rub rail was lifted, the joint was sealed and the rub rail was replaced, the area stayed dry. I assume that the current leak may be from the Transom/Hull Joint especially on the stbd side. Has anyone had a similar experience with Transom/Hull/Deck joint Integrity?I welcome your comments. Thank you. Bob DiSabatino
