Transmission Wows

Hi All

i think i'm having issues with my transmission on my 93 40.5.

The engine is a standard Yanmar 4JH2E.

last time i went out, i had to apply more power than usual to move the boat around in the marina as it was very breezy.

I heard a couple of "clunkling" noises when i switched in reverse and gave it a short burst at 2000RPM.

Now the engine will not rev up past 1600RPM when it's engaged in rerverse. It is fine is forward gear or at idle. I checked the throttle cable but don't think it is the issue

any ideas?

here's a short video i made before things went... south... http://youtu.be/oonr_uGGEMY

Dive on it...

I would dive on it and check the prop. You may have picked up fishing line or other semi floating item.

Re: Dive on it...

Good call. Forgot to mention that I have a kiwi folding prop -- might be the culprit

Check Back

...and tell us what you find. I suspect it's a fouled prop or a line wrap. I've had that happen.
