Re: 18HP Yanmar Diesel brand new. Just as I left my can over the weekend, I lost my transmission, forward and reverse. Will check fluid levels, but other advice would be great.
"Brand new" sounds like an installation problem. Shift cable came apart somewhere. Propeller shaft came loose. Prop dropped off. Start with the easy stuff. Check the oil in the reversing gear - it's more likely to sieze than not go.
