My Hunter Legend 37 has a Yanmar 3HM35 FC inboard engine . The manual says to use Shell Dextron transmission fluid for the gear box, my Shell Station sells Dextron-3 with additives. Is this ok to use?? Thanks, Barrie
Barrie, my guess is that it would be fine. dextron vs. dextron3 is most likely "improved" marketing with tiny porton of additives. The answer is to check the SAE rating to check for compatabilty. The best answer would be to contact Shell customer service and speak to a tech rep. There should be a 800 phone number on the quart of trans fluid to call.
