Knot meter is not working. I removed the transducer and removed the paddle wheel. The pins that hold the wheel in the transducer are bent. I am not at the boat and do not know what brand or model knotmeter I have but the transducers all look the same. Suggestions to locate the pins welcomed. As a last resort I might be able to straighten but replacing would be better

Not knowing the make of your knotmeter, all I can suggest is: (1) call Steve Demas at Alpha Rigging (HHN)301-261-5996. All you may need is short piece of small stainless rod to replace the axle and he may have some laying around his shop. He gave me a piece to replace the axle on an old Datamarine unit some years ago. (2) Contact DMI, see link below. They may have parts for your unit. (3) if the only problem is misaligned axle, you may be able to carefull drift out the old one and straighten it in a vice. Good luck.

Gail: The transducer is probably made by the same company as the depth display. So if you can remember the display brand, you may have a high probability of being correct if you make that assumption. You can google the display MFGR for phone numbers etc.

I replaced my old datamarine transducer with a new one for $100 because I didn't want to fuss with the paddlewheel and axle after I "accidently" dislodged it while in the water and the axle slid out thru my fingers only to be lost to the depths of the lake. But after looking at it in some detail, I couldn't figure out how it works! *o Does the paddlewheel create some pressure differential inside the "shoe" while spinning that is picked up thru a pinhole and transmitted electronically? I couldn't see that there was any correlation between the axle and the signal pick-up and I figured that would be very inaccurate anyway. Does anybody know how to explain?

It's a magnetic sensor
Those paddle wheel fingers got a magnet inside and a sensor is in the body that pickup the magnetic signal when those finger turn through it.

It is not an axle, the pins (2) fit into the paddle wheel from each side of the transducer. I removed them with an eye glass screwdriver
