Mounting thru-hulls
On my 260, I mounted my thru hull transducer and paddle wheel on opposite sides of the bilge pump. One problem I had though was that the Hunter hull is relatively thin (about 1/4 " thick) at this location and the thru-hulls were not threaded their entire length, making it impossible to fully tighten the nut on the bilge side. What I had to do was epoxy two 5"x 5" pieces of pressure treated 1/2" plywood on each side of the bilge pump in the areas where I wanted to place the thru-hulls. Then using a pilot drill from the bilge side, I drilled in the center of the each plywood square through the hull. Next, from the outside, using the correct size hole saw, I drilled holes where the pilot bit ponetrated the hull. I then put 5200 on the lip of the thru-hulls and placed them in the holes from the outside, fastening each in place with the vendor provided nuts in the bilge. I wiped away excess 5200 on the outside of the hull around the thru-hull flange before it dried. It is nerve wracking to drill such big holes in the bottom of the hull, but you get over it. Hope this helps.
