Bill - Is it ok to reduce the cable length of the speed and/or depth transducers of the ST40, 50, and 60 series speed/depth/tridata instruments? Thanks for taking time to field our questions. It is much appreciated.
Hey, saw your post, I'm not sure about the brand you have, but SR Mariner says not to change the length of the depth meter, don't think it matters on the knot meter, but you better check with your manufacture to be sure. David
It is best to leave them to the original length in case you need to reroute the cables for interference, etc. If you must cut them, then just don't cut the Depth cable.
