Does anyone know if a tranny can be removed without hauling out? Or, can you get the required shaft space to get trans splines to clear engine? Seems like pulling the trans is fairly basic but I have no experience with letting the shaft slide back a little. Is this ok to do?

Depends on.. boat, sapce, tranny, configuration & shaft seal.. Some transmissions can't be removed in water without sliding the engine forward..

What is the boat and what is the engine/trans/config..
