Gordon, what is the correct fluid to put in the tranmission of a 3gm30f? I thought it was 30 weight oil and someone else suggested regular tranmission fluid because it is over 3000 rpm. What would you suggest? thanks Pete
I have same engine and just went through same question myself a few weeks ago. Yanmar dealer up here says : If tranny is model KBW10D, it takes .7 liters of DEXRON transmission oil. If tranny is model KM3A, it takes .3 liters of same motor oil as engine. My boat is 84 and transmission on my 3GMF 30 (20 HP) is KM3A. There is a plate on transmission.
