hi, i'm new to this group.....

i may be interested in buying a vega.......one question i have is what kind of trailer &
truck rig has anyone used to trail the boat on distant journeys? i currently trail a 25'
sloop with 2.5' draft with my f250 v8.....boat is 3900lbs....and my double axel rig
handles long hauls well...we do a 1300 mi trip to florida each winter.

I trailered the Vega 900 miles, and then 3500 miles, using my Dodge 350 dualie, with a Cummins diesel. Probably overkill, since the tow rating of the truck is 10,000lbs. A 250 should do it. The trailer is dual axle, with electric brakes on one axle. I recently bought a new trailer for my Capri 26, which weighs about the same as the Vega, and I was told that, at least in this state, Arizona, hydraulic surge brakes were no longer legal, and I had to have electric brakes, and two axles, which I would certainly want anyway.
