i want to move my catalina 30 from southern cal to lake berryessa, just east of napa valley. i've rented a slip that will handle that size. the questions are should i have a commercial hauler delivery the boat from marina del rey? how do we,they then get the boat in the water? do they float off or do we need a crane? should i look into renting, or buying a trailer? i have a truck that will handle 10,000lbs of towing. what is available for trailers for a cat'30? with a trailer i assume i can float off as i do with the '25. any help with these questions, or products would be greatly appreciated. also the issue of stepping the mast....a-frame, crane, what do people do for this? sincerely, roy powell at Rgeopowell@aol.com

Trailer

You will need a triple axle trailer and a vehicle rated to tow at least twelve thousand pounds. The boat weights about ten thousand pounds and the trailer will weight around two thousand pounds. Also since the beam is almost eleven feet, a permit will be a must. Raising the mast should not be an issue with an a frame system. Wish I could help you, but my trailer is only rated for ten thousand pounds. Ryan
